Surprised people put money into a collection for her appeal. I'd rather put a few quid towards the cost of the bullets.

Drug use and abuse is one of the curses of the modern world.
if she and her friends had got away with this how many would have overdosed on there drugs kill them all drug trafficers shouldnt get appeals there victims dont get appeal on there death sentence on the drugs these scum provide

It appears she was the ring leader of a gang of three and she had being doing it for a long time as well as being well known to the underworld, sorry she knew what all the risks were and stupidly ignored them. An example in her case may perhaps make other people think twice.

Whilst I wouldn't wish death upon anyone like this, she has brought about her own fate.
Sadly, this proves that the death sentence doesn't always work as a deterent. If it did, no one would need to be subjected to it. Clearly people will always commit murder regardless of the consequences and people will also smuggle drugs.

Many (if not most) people are pretty ignorant on the subject, and what punishments are the norm in different countries.
It would appear that it wasn't expected that she would be given the death penalty....by the people who LIVE there in Bali.
From time immemorial, FEAR of punishment and retribution has been the greatest controller of human behaviour. Hence... religion.
I don't know if it's still the case, but when you arrive into a country there are usually plenty of warning posters that cannot be missed.
Indonesia and Bali always used to have such posters displayed from the moment you got off the plane, in the baggage collection area and immediately before customs. Plenty of warnings and plenty of opportunity to fes up

There's no doubt that she knew what she was doing and it's hard to feel any sympathy for her.
However, the death penalty is wrong and as a civilised country, we are right to oppose it.
although i dont agree with capital punishment i have to agree in saying that this woman knew the risks involved and she chose to take them.
So what is the alternative? She did the crime.. end of. Next thing we know, she will get a reprieve and get sent back to the uk for a cushy life in jail at our expense

I don't support the death penalty - probably in a minority on here (And in the UK). My rationale is that it's a way harsher punishment to let someone rot for years, every single day contemplating that this is the result of their actions - as opposed to just shooting them and it's over.
However, there you go, she was caught in a place where they shoot people, and that's the way it goes.
Why though are they plugging in the story that she's a "gran"?
Could this be a British left wing media attempt to somehow portray a more "shocking" idea in the reader, that they are somehow putting to death some wrinkly little lady, who bakes cakes for her grandchildren, lives in a thatched cottage, makes "nice pots of tea" etc
Mustn't forget, it's not hard to be a "gran" - some on the estates churn kids out so much, they can be a gran at 40. Hence the saying amongst some of these feral kids "my nan is well ard"
Anyway, as already said, don't forget what she was dealing here. Drugs are pure misery and death, they rip apart families and communities, they finance some of the worst crimes imaginable. It's hard to overestimate just how serious big time drug dealing really is.
I think the reality is she's an old slapper, a benefit scrounger and "neighbour from hell".
