right you have the visa and off you go to your first port of call, what happens then,????, everyone seems to say you have to get it stamped at your first place you said you are going to visit, so do they stamp it at the port or do they just look at it, whos done it and can they remember what happened

They stamp the passport with a (dated) entry stamp at your port of entry.
