Went along to get some foods the other day in Worthing, only to find the shop now seems to have gone out of business. What a pity! ...not sure where the nearest one to us is now!

It was Thatchers fault!
Hope you find another one near to you soon.
We've seen two close down in our area. Pity. Must be due to economic situation.
We still have two generic 'Oriental' grocery stores but limited and expensive.
Nearest for us now is Milton Keynes about an hours drive each way for us
I don't think the closing down of the shops has anything to do with the British economy. The strengthening of the peso has made Philippine produced products to expensive abroad.
That's one of the benefits of London your only ever 20 minutes away from a Filipino store. We have a couple in Tooting and we're only 5 minutes away from a Hoo Hing cash and carry which is very good .

the reason is probably the same why any sole trader shops go bust, costs and not enough customers
the pinoy shop near us, i wonder how they've kept going all the years, we only go once a month and hardly ever see any other customers inside
Anyone been to a Tesco's flogging Pinoy food ? we only went to the Sandhurst one once in Oct

We just went to Newcastle today from Middlesbrough our home town to pick up a balikbyan box at a local filipino store and my wife went a bit crazy buying all sorts of things but eh she was happy
