There's hardly any mention of it anywhere.

Unlike St.Patricks day which had outside broadcasts and reviews from around the world celebrations.

Isn't it about time we had some kind of celebration and recognition?

    Forgotten day

According to Wikipedia it's also celebrated in:-

Canada, Croatia, Portugal, Cyprus, Greece, Georgia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republic of Macedonia. Cities include Moscow in Russia, Genova in Italy, Ljubljana in Slovenia, Beirut in Lebanon, Qormi and Victoria in Malta and many others. It is also celebrated in the old Crown of Aragon in Spain—Aragon, Catalonia, Valencia, and Majorca.
St George's Day is known as the Feast of Saint George by Palestinians and is celebrated in the Monastery of Saint George in al-Khader, near Bethlehem. It is also known as Georgemas.
    Surely there are celebrations somewhere

, Peter ... strange that the Patron Saint of - by far - the largest of the 4 nations comprising our United Kingdom should, for the most part, go unnoticed ...

... UNLIKE St Patrick, St Andrew and St David.

Makes one wonder whether it was worth poor old St George's efforts in slaying the dragon!
