i have other compelling reasons to stay here. besides--my girlfriend wants to come here!! hardly unusual. time will tell.

You may be surprised that not all wife's/girlfriends wish to come to the UK. Some do because of love and vice versa with their partners moving abroad.

I doubt if they would share the same sentiments what with high living costs ,debt problems and lack of jobs.

sure--so tell me what utopia doesnt have those problems. watch out for the stampede

I'm not saying that they don't, just pointing out that life is in this country for most is harder in the current climate.
