Yes, I want to stay in the UK
No, I want to live in the Philippines
I will live where ever my partner and I are happy
i was born--and grew up--in birmingham. --in the 50's and 60's---so--i can compare life there--now and then. there is simply no comparison. ive got family there----one is a retired doctor--and could live anywhere he chose.
its easy to blame the UK if life is "hard"--but its likely to be a lot worse elsewhere.
People don't emigrate just because it's 'hard' here. If it was they probably wouldn't be able to afford to emigrate.
One of the main factors is the weather.
The reasons I want to move have nothing to do with hardship. It's a combination of the weather, the rat race, the people, and barmy politics.

... changed topic from the point I'd ORIGINALLY intended for discussion when starting this thread - which, at the outset, had been to compare how straightforward it used to be for persons from abroad to migrate to the UK upon their marriage to a British Citizen.
Ahh ... those were the days.
