    Post Last hurdle

    Hi there,
Within the last week my wife in the Philippines has been notified her visa has been approved (Yay) She is now awaiting the return of her documents including her passport. I have a few remaining questions for anyone who has recently been through the similar process, they are :

Will her passport be returned as it is and therefore she has to apply for a new one with her new surname ?

What red tape if any is left to get through before she can join me.

What supporting documents should she take when traveling to the uk to ensure a smooth passage through the borders of both countries.

Many thanks in advance, this forum has been very helpful.

Yes. If she wants to have a name change in her passport that needs to be done as a separate process.
That is really down completely to personal choice. There's no mandatory requirement. Some folks do it. Others just wait until the passport needs renewal.

She'll need to have her CFO sticker added to her passport.

In addition to her passport/Visa/CFO Sticker etc she would be advised to have contact details both in Philippines and UK to hand in the carry-on. If any copy details of air-ticket payment (credit card/debit card) are needed she need a photocopy to present. (Not sure how you orgainsed this, maybe worth checking with the airline)
If her application was made after 28th Feb she'll need the TB screening details in carry-on.

Can't think of anything else just now.
I'll keep thinking, maybe others have some extras
