May I add my congratulations and best wishes for your pregnancy
.
You’re not one of the forum members I know personally, but you say that this is your second time to be pregnant, and I hope / assume that your first pregnancy was without complications
.
You also say – naturally – that you have been searching for information about pregnancy, in addition to telling your doctor, and ( no doubt ) talking to your husband, other loved ones and friends.
Of course you will normally see a small number of healthcare professionals regularly, who will aim to make your pregnancy and childbirth as comfortable and safe as possible.
The aims of antenatal care have always been to maintain the mother in the best possible state of health, so that she may give birth to a healthy child ; to recognise abnormalities and complications at an early stage ; and to educate the mother in pregnancy and labour – you will already know this !
Your midwife is an expert in normal pregnancy and childbirth, caring for you at home or in hospital. They will also look after you in labour if everything is OK. Hopefully you will form a good relationship with your midwife from the start. Your doctor and / or obstetrician will deal with any particular concerns ( such as previous complications or illness, presumably on your UK medical record ). Your first and main contact is naturally the midwife. There is therefore normally no need to see any other specialist, especially in the early weeks of pregnancy.
No doubt you have already seen the comprehensive link below :-

I’m sure all forum members wish you well, and please keep us informed
