Hello nica, welcome to the forum.

May I kindly suggest you review this forum thread called All New Guide - How to apply for a Fiance Visa

You'll notice that solely in terms of the Financial Requirement it's only dependent upon the gross annual income of your fiance. UKBA are not all interested in the outgoings or balances of his bank statements. The only interest in the bank statement is to confirm that the stated salary is being deposited there by the employer.

Hope that link will help you to understand the visa requirements

Welcome to the forum Nica...you got a valid point. .no point your husband to be earning £22k before tax and national insurance then have outgoings exceeding that. .you must have x amount of available income after outgoings. That hasn't changed. In answer to your first question, you do indeed earn enough thus clearing the first hurdle. .
    Good Luck

    That's not correct.
UKBA have no interest in outgoings, only in the gross income.

The immigration rules are completely changed since you originally applied

Good morning Terpe So going by what you just told me, the British partner for example, could be earning £40 k a year, be in debt up to his eyeballs have no surplus cash to feed and cloth the additional chicks in the house yet still be granted a visa. ..I'm struggling to believe that Terpe.
I accept their has been changes elsewhere but surely the lower limit of ones available income hasn't changed to a nil requirement.

Btw. ..I'm trying to jump back in the loop! Cheers xxx
