well its that time of year again where you get your quote from your insurance company and its gone up £50+ and they think its a great offer too, well thank god i have the internet and lots of time on my hands too, and good old compare the markets, might get Ems a soft new meerkat, a xmas present if i wrap it up too,
Best offer so far is £122 for the year, or £153 with call out emergency and so on,

    Sometimes cheap is not cheap.
Most people seem happy to buy an insurance policy without even seeing the policy.

have you seen any policies Steve ?

I'm lucky that I live in a building owned by a housing association, that means they hold the buildings insurance and I only need take out contents insurance.

Was handy a few years back when the upstairs flat thought I needed an indoor swimming pool!!!

2 months of stress, but a brand new kitchen and carpets. Plus a new washing machine and oven.

This part of the ceiling just missed my head as it fell down!

Just done mine, Direct Line up 27% from last year, called them they reduced quote by 10% but still a whopping 15% increase, searched around got KwikFit for 20% cheaper than last year & better cover to boot. It pays to look around.

to me the internet and laptop pays for itself when you can sit at home and shop for great deals , what did we all do before without the internet, or was we all just robbed everytime we brought something

When I owned my last house in 2010 I was paying £83 per year for building and contents insurance up to £500,000 for building and £50,000 contents My house and contents came to just under £200,000. I must point out I did insure my car with the same company and that was never more than £140 per year bearing in mind I've never had a claim in my life, the insurance company was Saga.
