COMEDY Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas confirmed Sunday that she’s separated from husband of one month, businessman Jed Salang.
In a taped interview with "The Buzz" host Boy Abunda, Ai-Ai said she left their conjugal home after she was physically assaulted on May 2, when they had a fight over where to celebrate their first month as a couple.
Jed wanted to celebrate in a hotel and casino but Ai-Ai refused because she will look bad in public eye if she is spotted in a gambling area. Ai-Ai offered to just stay home or spend the occasion in a different hotel.
The comedienne’s husband disapproved the idea and started physically hurting her.
"Tuwing nag-aaway kami, physical fight, lumalaban ako. Pero nag-decide ako noong May 2 na parang hindi ko na kinaya lahat. Hinahagis ako sa kama, sampalan, bunuan. Yung time na hinila niya ako sa sahig at kinaladkad niya ako, doon ko na-realize na hindi ko na ito kaya,” Ai-Ai said.
"Feeling ko kabibigay ko pa lang nung dream niya, binigyan ko siya ng kotse. Nung araw na yun, kinaladkad niya ako sa sahig. Naisip ko na ano ba ang magagawa mo sa akin na ako binigay ko sa iyo lahat. Naramdaman ko na ito ba yung lalake na mamahalin ko na ginaganito ako,” she said.
Jed allegedly also made snide remarks about her Catholic faith. After the confrontation, she stayed in her daughter's unoccupied bedroom.
Ai-Ai also confirmed that there is a third party in their marriage.
