Appeal against My Civil Partner Entry clearance as a Tier 2 Dependant partner..

    Hi All,

My civil partner's Tier 2 Dependant visa was denied last August 27 2013 and an appeal was lodged online on the 19th of May.

How long does it take for an ECM review to take place?

Also, what can I do to push the ECM to conduct the review asap?

Please help me this is causing me distress as I miss my civil partner so much :(

    This is a bit confusing.
When a visa is denied and an appeal is allowed, the applicant has 28 days in which to lodge an appeal and make payment.

The appeals process will define and inform the location and specific date of the court hearing.
The first part of the appeals process is a request by the courts for the ECM to undertake a review for reconsideration.
If the ECM is satisfied that your application meets the Immigration Rules, they may overturn the original decision and issue a visa or entry clearance.

If the ECM does not overturn the decision, an entry clearance officer (ECO) will write a statement explaining why the ECM has upheld the decision to refuse the application. This statement and all your papers (known as 'the appeal bundle') will be sent by UKBA visa office to the FTTIAC within:-

20 working days for non-settlement and family visitor cases
    or
90 working days for settlement cases.

(exclude postage times to and from the visa office)

It seems from what you've said that the process has been followed.
I would strongly suggest you write to the Tribunal and request urgent update.
You cannot make direct contact to an ECM

    Write your complaint here:-
First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber)
    PO Box 6987
    Leicester
    United Kingdom
    LE1 6ZX

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I understand the whole process but I wanted to know how long do I have to wait tol see if the ECM will overturn it?

Is there anything I can do to make this quicker? I mean emailing the post or involving the MP?

    Thanks

    Bal
