Surely, it'd make sense to provide comfortable [separate] indoor Areas in bars and/or eateries for folk wishing to indulge their habit.
I was beginning to think that I was the only outcast in this thread, just because the mayor does'nt smoke this stupid law imerges, even the president smokes so where will he gofor a quick drag if he ever comes to Davao. I was down town today for our weekly supplies trip, did I see any designated smoking area's? No. Did I see people smoking down side streets and back alleys? Yes. Lets be fair over this, give us smokers some leaway, even out door smoking area would be fine by me even if it's raining. I've been smoking for 55 years and not about to give up now.I used to enjoy our weekly down town jaunt, get supplies, have a meal, have a fag whenever, now it's a rush to get back home tothe safety ofmy own house again.

, Keith ... fairness all round is MY motto! Alas this quality appears to be particularly thin on the ground these days.

Fortunately Peter,I live on nearly 4 Hectares of private land...
Within those boundaries I will always be free to do whatever I like..
Anyone I invite onto this private land is most welcome BUT unfortunately they have to adhere to my rules and I cannot abide the new school whingers etc.. They will be politely asked to leave!
    Think Woodstock.

I think there are a few places dotted around the P.I called Mabini..
Probably all of them were named after Prime minister and revolutionary,Apolinario Mabini who was in office before the turn of the Century.

Yes there are Mabinis all over the Phils, as pointed out by Fred, but the one I always think of is Mabini St in Manila, location of that fine restaurant and live band venue...'Calle 5'. In fact I took my lady there last trip.

Always a variety of great local bands to see for just a small cover charge. Normally 3 or 4 bands in a row, with different styles. How about some head-banging ?

I had to look up Comval Province because I've never heard of it. I realise now it's a shortened name of Compostela Valley.

Yes ... you're RIGHT, of course, Jamie. Myrna had mentioned that in the past. But I'd forgotten.

The smoking ban in Davao/Manila or any other city in the Philippines is public officials seeing the small issues and being totally blind to the bigger issues.
A smoke belching bus/jeep/tricycle probably omits more fumes than 50 smokers and just as harmful!
Yes good point, I am sure that if i walked around Davao city then i could find many more pressing issues other than a few people smoking

    Only kidding Michael.

In fact, you could probably eat breakfast off my floor.

Just let me have a look...there must some on the carpet somewhere.

Found a smoking area in the most unlikely place, Davao City Immigration. To the left of the entrance door is a small alley, there you will find 2 chairs and a sand bucket for your stubs. Thank you immigration.
