    financial requirements problem

    Hi all!

My husband is self employed and missed a month salary last month,, will that affect my visa application? He earns £2200 before tax monthly. Should I apply visa or wait for another 6 months? Thank you!

Have you got any kids that are not your husbands? The reason I am asking is because we do not know what financial requirement you need.

    Just an idea.
If he is self employed then perhaps he can simply declare some cash work in his tax return for that month to make up the shortfall?
I was also S/E and used to do this if I knew I`d be applying for a mortgage etc.

    OK your husband is self-employed.
Is that as a Sole Trader, Partner or as Limited Company Director ?

The specific rules for those who are 'self-employed' can be a little complicated and confusing.

If you feel comfortable with your own research and understanding that's fine.
If there is any doubt it may be worth spending a small amount of money for a good professional consultation.

As you know there are two categories for self-employed:-
    - Category F - you are in self-employment at the date of application and using income from the last full financial year to meet the financial requirement.

    - Category G - you are in self-employment at the date of application and choose to use an average of the income received in the last 2 full financial years to meet the financial requirement.

The income is based solely on Taxable Income. For Self-Employed that is revenue less business expenses.

There is no requirement to produce any monthly payslips at all etc.
It's all based on Financial Year incomes.

Im self employed and will be submitting my visa soon. You will need 12 months bank statements bussiness and personal. SA302 from the inland revenue of you latest tax. Your bank statements need to be for the 12 month period from when your tax year starts and ends.
I dont understand why you mention payslips as you say that your husband is self employed.
