    Very frustrating

Wife's elder sister is a teacher, I admire her for her work ethic and energy. Poor girl hasn't been paid for 5 months. Had to get married as the public schools don't accept unmarried mothers, so had a simple civic ceremony. Applied for a better paid job at a private Catholic school but they don't accept civil marriage so now has to have church ceremony also, with the associated extra costs.

Also found out there is a government scheme to help out low income families with rice/money ever month (not sure what it's called? Anyone?) turns out that the local barangay officials have been denying my mother in law the benefits for the last couple of years (and probably pocketing themselves) as they 'now have foreigner in the family who will provide everything' Makes my blood boil.

There was a Documentry on BBC3 last night Graham, all about the Catholic Priests that have been abusing boys and girls all over the world including America, Ireland, England and many more including Philippines and Australia. I'm surprised that no one on the Forum picked up on it!

Reminds me of what my Mother told me over skype that my Uncle who is working in Saudi sent some presents for all his siblings, but the one who is in charge of sharing it took some of my Mama's share she was told that she doesn't need it all because she has a daughter abroad

I have no idea of that government scheme..all I know is that if you live in the Philippines, you don't work or not in pension you don't get anything.

I try to keep off the subject as much as possible Michael, for fear of being booted off the forum...with a lot of our members being of the Catholic persuasion.

Religion is something I could also go on and on about for hours on end but I also refrain from airing my views coz it gets me into trouble sometimes
