THE trendy iPhone 5 is the slowest of Britain’s top-selling smartphones, consumer tests show.
Apple’s popular handset was only HALF the speed of the top-rated Samsung Galaxy S4.
In benchmark tests of processor and memory performance it scored 1,664, compared with the Samsung’s 3,188, said watchdog Which?.
The higher the “geekbench” result, the better the phone handles popular tasks such as running apps, playing games and editing pictures.
Which? said: “We put all the handsets through the same tests. Undoubtedly, Apple will upgrade its next iPhone when it launches this autumn.”
The HTC One came second, then Sony’s Xperia Z.
Results:
1. Samsung Galaxy S4 (3,188)
2. HTC One (2,798)
3. Sony Xperia Z (2,173)
4. Google Nexus 4 (2,134)
5. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (1,950)
6. BlackBerry Z10 (1,698)
