Pope prays for lost "refugees" on visit to Mediterranean island

On the first pastoral visit of his papacy, Pope Francis shunned protocol and politics on a visit to the tiny island of Lampedusa off the coast of Sicily to pray for refugees and migrants lost at sea.

I wonder how many of these "refugees" are being housed in the Vatican City ?

There is a bit of precedent after WW2 German "refugees" en route to South America were given sanctuary

Just about to ask the same question.

I don't think Jesus will be very impressed with his fan club management team and their gold-encrusted temples during his 3rd coming.

More of the same. They should have picked a younger Pope who would have brought the Catholic Church into 21st Century with common sense proposals on Contraception and Celibacy.
