Exclamation Sharing about Fiance TB screening

Months before i emailed VFS about the TB screening confirming if i need the test for my Fiance Visa Application.
I just want to make sure because am not in Luzon and i don't want to waste money getting test that don't really need for my application.

    heres their reply ..

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    Thank you for your email.
We apologize for the delay in replying to your query.
With regards to your concern, Fiance or Marriage settlement applications are exempted to take the TB Test.
Kindly see below for further information.
As of 28th February 2013 (ie applications with a payment date of 28th February or later), all applicants resident in the Philippines submitting applications for entry clearance of more than 6 months duration must provide a certificate with their applications confirming that they are free from infectious TB with their visa applications. This includes any non-Filipino nationals who are resident in the Philippines as well as Filipino nationals. The main categories applying in the Philippines are settlement and Points Based System: Tier 2 (employment), Tier 4 (student) and Tier 5 (temporary worker) applicants.
Exceptions to this requirement are: Children under 11 years of age, returning UK residents (ILE/ILR holders), holders of a Certificate of Entitlement to the Right of Abode and applicants applying for an ‘Exempt’ vignette (diplomats, etc). Please note that fiancé/fiancée/proposed civil partners are not required to undergo TB screening as their entry clearance is limited to 6 months only. British nationals and dependent children of Filipino nationals who hold British nationality do not require TB testing.
The sole clinic/TB test provider in the Philippines is the International Organisation for Migration health screening clinic in Makati.
The address and contact details are:
    IOM Manila Health Centre
    15th Floor, Units A & B
    Trafalgar Plaza
    105 H V Dela Costa Street
    Salcedo Village
    Makati City
    1227 Metro Manila
    Tel: (63) 2 883-9339 / 511 87711
    Fax: (63) 2 833-9377
    Mob: 917 593-4688 / 919 993-4667
    Email: mhc.uk@iom.int
All applicants attending this clinic will undergo a chest X-ray and if found free of TB will be issued with a certificate by the IOM. The original certificate must be presented at the VAC together with the applicant’s VAF. Certificates are valid for six months. Those applicants whose X rays test positive will be further tested (sputum smears) and if found to have TB will be offered free treatment. They can then be tested again when the treatment is finished and if found free of TB can be issued a certificate.

VFS just collects the documents and sends it to British Embassy. They don't know the rules. ALWAYS LOOK AND FOLLOW THE REQUIREMENTS FROM THE UKBA WEBSITE. THEY ARE THE ONES CHECKING YOUR DOCUMENTS IF IT COMPLIES WITH THE VISA REQUIREMENTS NOT VFS.

    Looks simple enough to me.
If you are not staying in the uk for more than 6 months you do not need to have the test.

    hi april!
as ive said on your other post i am also applying for a fiance visa.

i had my tb screening last monday july 29.
it took the whole but will get the result on the same day as long as you will book an appointment in the morning.
you need to book appointment 3 days before so that you can get the morning slot.
i underwent the tb test just to be on the safe side because it will be stated on your application that you will be planning to stay there after the wedding so it will turn out that you will be staying there for more than 6 months.
Well this is just my reason why i had plus to avoid delays at the airport as thet might ask you for it.

So yeah if you're planning to have the test just book early, you also need your passport and 2 valid IDs...

    Good luck!

ALWAYS follow UKBA latest information for Visa Requirements and UK Immigration rules.

Do not ask VFS about ANY UK Immigration rules. They really do NOT know anything and are specifically prohibited from offering any official advice about visa requirements. Period.
