    country code without the +

    i filled in online my phone details for british embassy manila,

    the form does not accept + only numbers, where it would normally be +44
    can anyone tell me what is needed to phone uk without the +

    As I recall I think it's 00 from Philippines.

    i tried my landline from my mobile using 0044 but didn't work, i guess thats because im dialing within uk, unlike +44 i can

    For example, from the Philippines you'd dial 00, then country code (44 for UK), then any area code without the 0 and finally the local number.

    International dialing codes can vary from country to country.
    From USA it's 011
    From Japan it's 010
    From most European Countries it's 00

    Some countries have different codes depending on the provider you use.

    It should work Stewart, 00 44 followed by your area code without the '0' prefix then your 'subscriber' number.
    Same for mobile numbers 00 44 followed by the mobile number without the '0'

    Should work. Try it again

    All my numbers in my cell phone are coded in international format just for convenience when travelling.

    Lol, I recently had my mobile fixed and lost all my numbers...

    So when I tried to phone My other half in Singapore the other morning to wake her up (as requested) I was wondering why it wouldn't connect.... Wasn't until yesterday I remembered I had to put 00 in front of the Singapore international dialling code.
