I sent application 17th of july and received acknowledgement letter the following week. The letter was dated 18th of july same day when they took the money out from our account. Never heard since so i emailed them last sunday and they replied that they received my application and is awaiting for allocation to a case worker....so it means my application has been on the the table for a month now untouch!!!....
...certainly not the kind of service i would expect for a fee of nearly a gran.
it will happen in good time , take your mind of it and enjoy a holiday to florida a few spaces left if you are interested,

I don't know who's worse!The civil servants in the Manila British Embassy or the Civil Servants at the home office here.5 months to get a Spouse Visa approved and we also paid a grand.This is what I say to them

My wife applied for British Citizenship at the registry office December 9 2012.
She attended ceremony February 13 2013. Then applied for British passport same week. She got that mid March.

09 August 2012 - Applied for Naturalisation.
15 August 2012 - 6 days after submitting, my citizenship application my payment was taken from my bank account.
12 October 2012 - 9 weeks, my citizenship approval has arrived!
29 October 2012 - Oath taken
20 November 2012 - IPS interview 3:45 PM
22 November 2012 - Passport arrived 9:30 AM
From 09 August to 12 October - 2 months & 3 days to be exact before they contacted me to invite for an interview.
Now, from here it depends the availability how long you can get a booking for an oath taking.
Between my Citizenship application to oath taking, it took 3 months & 11 days
And it depends if you apply for passport ASAP its less than 48 hours and my British passport arrived!
Between 12 October 2012 - 29 October 2012, I could have shorten this waiting period as I called for a special service and paid £100, but I was not in the country when my invitation arrived.
