Obtaining CNI during the MANILA Floods and embassy closed

    Hello

This is my current situation. Will be collecting my CNI soon but the british embassy has been closed for the last 3 days due to the flooding. Have emailed them, no reply and when I go on clickbook it says the next appointment date is in October which would therefore mean that I cannot get married and will miss my wedding which has already been paid for. This would be a real disaster!

Did anyone encounter any similar situation in the past? Is the protocol that you turn up on the day of the appointment (fast approaching) and they give you a new appointment date? or they will send you an email if the appointment is cancelled with a new date?

Just worried. If the CNI is issued a few days later it will be ok but they cannot expect me to re-book 1 month later.

    Any guidance appreciated!

    Thanks

turn up on the day and explain the situation. people in british embassy (manila) are nice and can be considerate too. theres no way theyre gona ask u rebook for october im sure. they understand the time pressure with CNI and that people wana get married from UK got limited time in Manila so try not to worry. it will be sorted out.

Are you sure about that MissDi ??
Have you actually done that ??

Security level at the British Embassy is very high.

    To Lovemanila,
What is the date of your Philippine wedding ?
Working back from that date you'll discover the latest date for Philippine CNI
To save additional time your fiancee can collect it from the Embassy provided she has the correct documentations and ID's etc.
    Also an appointment slot.

If you have difficulties with the availability of apponiment slots and wish to be treated as an urgent case then you MUST first contact the Consular team at Cons.Manila@fco.gov.uk

DO NOT just turn up at the embassy unexpected. You will not normally be allowed to enter. Period.

not me Terpe. my husband did, about 2 yrs ago, we went to embassy together. and yes the security level is high.

normally, they honor the first appointment date. then resched u if need be. so no need to make another appointment Lovemanila unless uve been there and personally talked to them on the appoinyment date they expected u to come.
goodluck and hope it goes smooth. update us here too

As I've mentioned, Lovemanila is best advised not to believe that anyone can just walk into the Embassy and receive service without prior agreement. Those days are long gone.
The current systems are completely different.

Lovemanila should contact the Embassy for next step options if there are insufficient appointment slots for a timely issue of a local CNI

I think if nobody answers the phone nobody is in there, just keep chasing them through calls until the floods subsides and the Embassy opens, it is very dangerous to just turn up there or anywhere without an appointment.
I am sure you will be in priority list if all you just need to do is collect your CNI.

YES I will second that.I tried it but alas got turned away. There was a time you could walk in to a British Embassy at any time during opening hours as I did often do that when I lived in Moscow but that has all been done away with and I did try to go to the Embassy in Manila to query a document,I did not have an appointment and was duly turned away.
