    Lap Top through customs

    i have not yet taken my lap top through airport customs,

    do i put lap top on belt to go through scanner with my carry on bag ?
    or will this damage my lap top,
    what is the normal procedure

    Normally you'll put it through the scanner in it's own separate tray.
    There'll be no damage at all.

    Sometimes you might get randomly chosen and asked to switch it on. That's it.

    Nothing to worry about.

    I had to take my tablet out and put it in a separate tray to go through the xray when I went to cebu.

    Just take the laptop and any iPad or Kindle-size device and put them in a separate tray. I've not been asked to turn my laptop on in 15 years travelling around. Last time was Germany many years ago.

    No damage will occur, just don't drop it!
