I suppose i must count myself lucky. I don't live a major town or city. .sleepy Swindon a place where we can't even muster a proper football team.
Where I live, the neighbours are on the whole friendly and approachable as I've recently found out.
The schools are great as well. A great place to bring up a family.

I can imagine a life quite the opposite to that here in UK.
You're lucky to have that experience. Others are not so lucky.

No way. If the neighbours know your name a day or more down the line without any introduction you know things aren't so bad in the bedroom department.

If you took the time and read through some of my previous posts, you might realize there are times i do have a moan about the Philippines. Most of the time i do think everything is fantastic that is why we live here.

We live in a normally barangay and it is not rat infested!

I know roughly how long Brian, Mark and Michael have spent living in the Philippines. We don't always agree but nothing wrong with them giving their opinion. How long have you actually spent living in the Philippines?

2 years in Bicol and 6 months in Cainta Rizal

wow are we talking about the phils here or most major cities in england, just drive or walk if you dare to many places in england and they seemed to have gone back years, there are good parts but bad parts too,

Hi everyone ! If my husbands moaning about our neighbours when we go back to live in the Philippines I think it's a good idea to soundproof our bed room , so that he can't hear my neighbours at night time ... and if he still can hear my neighbours we transfer to the mountain to live with a monkeys , how about that ?

Sounds a great idea but some big Bass speakers can penetrate anything

The noisy neighbours aren't the worst though. It's the vindictive, spiteful types that take great pleasure of causing trouble for the sake of it - they're the one's you dread living next to or even in the same street.

Yes you're right. My experience here in UK is that those types are also noisy.
Must say since we've moved here to UK we've had some terrible experiences with neighbours. We've also at the same time found some great ones too.
We moved 3 times solely to get away from anti-social neighbours. Absolute nightmare and so lucky we were only renters. On one occasion it was so bad we actually left 3 months before our tenancy expired and continued to pay the rent as the landlord wouldn't agree to an early release.

I'm sure there are some nightmare neighbours in Philippines, but fortunately I've not encountered any in any of our places or in fact in those of our family.
My wife's mother's house was actually on a beach. Surrounded by squatter fishermen in small nippa type dwellings. Never any problems and always friendly to me.
Never once caused any issue and never approached me for money. A couple of times I got asked for my T-Shirt though. Usually we'd decide by the toss of a coin....always good for a laugh regardless of the outcome.

Land in many areas of the R.P is extremely cheap.. I saw some last month for 10 Pesos per sqr meter..
Buy lots and lots of it and dont sell it.. This is how many of us here control problems with future neighbours..
