When to Apply for ILR if...

Hello Everyone. I just have a quick question to those who entered UK using a fiancée visa under old rules. Does your BRP(for FLR) expire approximately two years after it was issued? My BRP was issued Feb 2013 and it expires Aug 2015. When is the appropriate time to apply for ILR? Do I still need to follow the 28-days before expiry rule or can I apply after Feb 2015?

You can apply for ILR 28 days before the expiry date of your FLR(M) the earliest.

Thanks Rayna. Is your BRP valid for 2 years and 6 months as well?

Wait, why is your FLR(M) validity 2.5 years? Mine is from Feb 2013 to Feb 2015. I think they've given you wrong validity dates.

Yeah, I didn't know that there was something odd in my BRP when I looked at Novie's BRP recently. They issued it on the 21st of Feb this year but it will expire on 7th of August 2015.

I think they've given you a wrong validity date. You're in the old rules and they should've given you only 2 years validity and not 2.5 years. You better check with UKBA and inform them.

Thanks a lot Rayna. I did not really bother about it at first because I thought the 6 months extra is for travelling in and out of the country like spouse visas. I will sort this out as soon as possible.
