Timing of visit to VFS is not then such a time critical element relating to evidence eligibility.

If I understand correctly you are saying:
Key points> Date of application of Visa an payment must have all documents NO older than 28 days.
AND that even my wife gets an interview after the date of my next pay slip its still ok because she applied when my latest documents were all up to date. Am I thinking correct here Terpe?

Everything depends on the date at application (date payment is made)

I recall that there's a limit on application validity before submission of docs at VFS, but just can't remember what that is. I doubt it's very short.
Anyway, book the appointment with VFS when it best suits, but don't leave it too long.

Maybe somebody knows what the current timings are these days.
