Tributes poured in over the weekend to the veteran broacaster who is believed to have suffered a massive heart attack minutes before he was due to deliver a talk to passengers on board the cruise liner, Queen Elizabeth last Saturday evening.
Many of an older generation will still recall his famous interview with disgraced US President, Richard Nixon in 1977.
During a career spanning no fewer than five decades, he's also believed to have interviewed all Prime Ministers ranging from Harold Wilson to the current incumbent. David Cameron was among those who described Frost as one whose technique could be "fearsome ... but, nonetheless, consistently fair" ... adding that he'd always admired Frost for his genial approach.
Mindful of which ... ... the journlist's innate sense of humour is reputed to have inspired the comedy genius of such renowned "late GREATS" as Graham Chapman and Ronnie Barker ... spawned by early 1960s' TV programmes as "That Was The Week, That Was" (or TW3) of which a 24yr-old Frost was the main presenter.
