Oh, so sorry to hear of your loss Stevie.

It will take time, but things will come right for you again.

There are people on here (including myself) who have gone through similar traumas, and you know we're always here when you need a chat or to get anything off your chest.

Wishing you and Florsel all the best.

Welcome back Stevie, so sorry to learn about those events and your health issues.

I can fully understand how you may be feeling as both Carina and me have also been impacted in similar ways during 2012

Took me almost a year to get back but I'm not the same person still.

Take your time Stevie and only share what you feel comfortable with.
All your friends are here to support whenever you need it.

I did wonder why you hadn't called.

Take care you both, great to see you back here again.

I hope you and Florsel are both OK

    Hi Stevie,

Welcome back to the Forum. I do remember you and Florsel had a Philippines vacation earlier in the year, and like others, missed you here.

Like your friends who have contributed on your thread so far, I fully understand the reason for your absence.

You did the right thing in seeing your doctor. Genuine depression with an obvious cause, as with your bereavement, is serious. It may be called “ reactive “ in your case, as opposed to “ endogenous “ depression with no apparent cause. However, the outlook is good, with the right treatment ( which doesn’t just involve medication ). I’m sure your doctor will have advised you in this. Self help , looking after your general health and communicating ( in your own time ) with loved ones and friends – including here on the Forum – will all speed recovery.

Best wishes to you and Florsel .

Welcome back Stevie. I'm so sorry about to learn about the death in your family. I too had 2 deaths in my family in the Philippines this year (grandma died on January and grandad died on August) and I couldn't come home.

Don't worry, time heals all wounds. Hoping you and Florsel will be fine and back to how you used to be in due time.

Sorry to hear of your loss Steve. Welcome back.

Don't know if it helps but when i lost someone very close to me, i found counselling VERY helpful in getting me back to myself. I was also VERY skeptical at first but it really did help me personally...just thought i should mention it even though my circumstances were probably different.

This is still early days for you Stevie. ..nothing can prepare anyone a lose like yours. ..I lost my Dad when he was 78...He lived a full life. ..at around the same time as my bereavement a manager lost his teenage son in a motorcycle accident. ...It put my lose into perspective. ..so so sorry Stevie. We are here for you ok. ..I'll PM you my mobile. So happy your wife is being a wall of strength for you. ...For what it's worth, you will be in my prayers
