Actually I was thinking more of the tunnel project I worked on (23km wastewater project in HK), where we used the old timber sleepers and rail sections to run the TBM on. I was in charge of a team of 6 Pakistanis and a couple of Brits.

Much swinging of sledgehammers and carrying sleepers and 12m rail sections about. I remember when 4 of them (rails) came out of the sling when being sent down to us and fell the full 100m of the shaft. A miracle nobody was killed.
