I'll be honest, I rarely look at prices while food shopping. ..I get what I need and fancy. That's it really. ..I think that's the same for most of us.
I put "Prime Ministers" plural because it happens to all of them at some point, whether it's Cameron, Brown, Blair....
It's just not relevant for a Prime Minister to know the exact cost of a basket of a specific food. So many (as can be seen in this thread) will try to make cheap political capital out of it.
I usually do the shopping in our house and I know that the bread I often buy costs about £1.30. Don't have a clue about a sliced value loaf though!
Have a go at this. I scored 2!

Joe, without looking it up can you tell me how much a kilo of mince is please?
The whole thing is .......s-of course any parliamentarian would not be able to answer that what a childish question,I would not be sure of that.
If he want's to make his own bread so be it,I'm sure it's better than some of the crap on supermarket shelves.
what next whats your fav colour Pm?
Keith and I go to shop for food almost everyday. But I would never know the exact price of every food we buy. It usually changes and also different every store you go, i.e. Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, etc.![]()

...When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible...
Is that question in the bank of questions for Life in the UK test? If not it needs to be.. its just as silly as knowing half of the silly things in that 2013 book like who is Laurence Olivier...
Regarding the video clip in #23 ... 'fraid I was unable to follow it because of ongoing sound interference on my speaker system. But I'm assumimg it's the one in which our old Etonian Prime Minister - the man who decreed a knowledge of British History be included in the Life in the UK Test - falters when quizzed as to the year that 'Magna Carta' was signed. Hardly surprising, then ...... that he doesn't have a "dicky bird" about the price of a loaf of bread!

Just hearing these Tory toffs on the radio is enough to make me want to vomit
Cameron + Johnson need to remove the plums from their mouths (good old Eton boys)
Worst of all has to be William Hague this little upstart with his monotone ramblings sounds like
a BBC newsreader from back in the dark ages - spiffing dear chap
These Tory boys are about as far away from normal society as you can get
All 3 toffs above dont have a clue how normal people live and work![]()
Luckily I've always been a 'eat to live' sort..and when the wife was here, she was the same, so we did have something in common
When the boys were on formula and jared food, their food bill came to more than ours for the week.
I would of never reduced my food intake to pay bills..not by choice...as for watching my pennies, there's more than enough eyes watching that without me adding to it, thank you very much

Typical marxist/socialist/communist or what ever you want to call yourself response, you change your answer to suit the question thinking that everyone is so stupid that they can't remember what you said 10 minutes previously.
You firstly said you were a vegetarian as an excuse to avoid answering the question (post 38). Did you go away and think, hang on that was a lie and this is a much funnier answer
When you make your own mince, what cut of meat do you use? I'd guess at something with a lot of bull in it(there's an open door for you.... you can use bull as in bullingdon in your response).
This really is getting rather sad![]()
Ahem. I think you'll find the same across the board in politics and 'senior' union roles. It's not "those poor hard done by politicians" - you never see a poor dentist, and you never see a poor policitian:

This is a fun discussion
Lots of us i reckon don't know the price of certain things-so I'm assuming many of us are working class and yet we out of touch
Now whoever the PM is I am not worried that he is out of touch with prices as he lives in a far different world to the rest of us (as do footballers, royalty, golfers etc)
I would assume he does not go down to Tesco on a regular basis (why would he) He is paid to run the country and that's what we want him to do.
Whether you belong to Tory party, lib dem,Labour, monster raving loony party and were in power you have to get on with your job thats what we pay you for![]()
you really believe the bullingdon boys do anything for themselves, this is the guy who left one of his kids at the pub and didn't realize til he got home
Marxist/socialist/communistyou really are jumping to conclusions
because i know there are people out there that are struggling and people like you, who are 'I'm alright jack' don't give a
18 months and labour will be back in gov![]()
Simon, you can buy Veggie mince now.![]()
