    Our Exchanging CNI Experience

well our appointment day came, we were offered a taxi fare of 2,500 peso, of course we turned it down, the next taxi charged us 250 peso, but to our surprise he dropped us off at the american embassywe then managed to get another taxi to the british embassy at last, we found it behind the korean embassy, no signs to say it is an embassy, not what i had imagined, looks like the entrance to H M P, still enjoyed the body search philippina and philippino guards
anyway heres how the appointment went,

wed 18th sept, attended appointment at british embassy manila, for exchange of uk CNI to philippine version,
    Documents i took (mine)
1/passport original + 1 photo copy of data page + 1 copy of visa stampede page,

2/ divorce decree absolute + 1 photo copy,

3/ my uk cni, + 1 photo copy

4/ plus the fee in peso

we thought we only needed my documents as this is about me not Lolita, however we did take Lolitas Documents folder with us,

Documents they asked of Lolitas, as a widow,

    1/ passport,+ photo copy
    2/birth certificate,+ photo copy
3/death certificate of her late husband, showing presumpion of death +photo copy
4/marraige contract of her and late husband,+photo copy
    5/lolitas cenomar +photo copy
    6/ id +photo copy

    and heres how it went,

    consular asked for,
death certificate of Lolitas late husband, (which we didnt have that was issued by nso manila )

we were told to re book online as our documents were inadequate ,
i looked at Lolita and said appointments online are booked up almost 2 months before could get another appointment, Lolita spoke in tagalog to consular, and we were given another appointment for the 20th, just 2 days away,

we went to nso manila for required documents which were issued to us on the morning of the 20th leaving the afternoon appointment at the embassy for the afternoon,

    heres how it went,

    fri 20th sept,
    attended appointment at british embassy,
submitted death certificate done by nso manila,
all lolitas documents done in cdo were rejected saying they are copies not real,

    rejected,
1/cenomar, (told to get from nso manila)
2/ consular asked for additional document saying didnt the first consular ask us to get this, answer no, she apologised on her colleagues behalf,( marriage contract of lolita and late husband,,, to be obtained from nso manila)

she rebooked us a third apointment,

    25th sept,

    submitted to british embassy

cenomar for widow from nso manila

    marriage contract from nso manila

consular reviewed our application, also allowing us to change lolitas address to a manila address, made as a footnote at bottom of philippine cni,
    documents accepted,

legal capacity approved with congratulations from the consular you may now get married

all philippine documents submitted to british embassy must be from nso manila, easy to get, just a little queuing, cost per document 140 peso, most issued in 2 days

They are certainly keeping you both busy running around for documents, you'll get used to it Stewart it's normal in Philippines. You know when I lived in Dumaguete we travelled all over to different Islands collecting and delivering paperwork in order to obtain the end product, after a while I got used to it and then believe it or not I started to enjoy it, Buses, Large ferries, small ferries, Aircraft, tricycles, and Taxis, also got to visit quite a number of different places and it gave us plenty to do. Whatever happens Stewart you both enjoy each other and life together also have a great time and keep us posted!
