... aww ... ... here was me thinking our illustrious Home Secretary had been ordered to scrap the 'minimum income threshold' required for sponsoring non~ European partners of British nationals.

Good idea Arthur. ...scrap the the threshold and let the already hard pressed British Tax payers fund those living above their means

18.5 k is still a give away considering you can still claim family tax credits upto 25k which was the level the right Honorable David Cameron proposed. ..there's no pleasing in some folks

£18,600 may be a "drop in the ocean" to those fortunate enough to be in the 'Supertax' bracket.

Whereas, decent, hard-grafting Care Workers (such as our Andy, for instance) have little option but to work endless extra shifts in order to scrape together the amount this government is demanding.

s, Graham ... 's because NONE of our present-day politicians have either the guts or the backbone to mount a serious challenge to the infernal European Commission For Human Rights.

There seems to be an awful lot of people ordering the 'Government' about, who I don't remember having been democratically elected by the British people.

Point taken Arthur....but, if I were on that money (18.5k and under) and already supporting kids from a previous marriage I knew I would never of found the extra cash to go out to the Philippines ( i take it nothing is means tested ) let alone get married again. .so I applaud those who can stretch their money to that extent

Theresa May will go down in history for deporting those 2 germs, I'm not sure what Jacqui Sniffs achievements as Home Sec were - putting her husbands porno viewing on expenses perhaps ?

Now there, we do agree ... as, of course, was evidenced by the all too frequent turnover in incumbency of that once powerful Office of State during the last Labour administration.

However, I've already made my perceptions crystal clear (*see #8)
in describing today's leaders - across the entire political spectrum
    - as a gutless, spineless bunch.

    *also, please.

Well I think Mrs May acquitted herself reasonably well on the Radio 4 'Today' programme this morning, despite the pathetic and (as usual) clearly biased, anti-British, and leading questioning of the interviewer.

    I'll see if there's a podcast/download

I think she puts a lot of effort into the job of Home Secretary unlike for example reformed communist John Reid (obviously now Lord Reid of Cardowan) who just proclaimed the Home Office "unfit for purpose" as he brown nosed his way into a highly paid directorship with G4S.

She also made a mess of it the first time round costing the tax payer more money. She should have got it right the first time.

Should she ? Seems Labour made an ongoing mess trying to get rid of them for many years - no doubt deliberate though as they're the party that supports illegals, terrorists and spongers

Is it ABC? Anything But Cameron. What about these new Energy increases? 8% rise its a joke. The tories could cap these rises but they wont. All they are doing is creating poverty and the results of the next election will show that.

She probably did get a .......ing and it took her 3 years or so in the job to get those vermin shipped out. How many years did they lead the life of riley in HMP Butlins laughing behind the backs of successive incompetent Labour Home Secretaries

Aaah, so we mustn't learn from past cockups ?

God forbid that that drip Millipede and his gang of dishonest incompetents should ever see power again in this country for the forseeable future. One near-bankruptcy, and the invasion of our country with parasites and terrorists is enough, thanks.

I do chuckle at your hypocrisy Andy - I can't go back beyond May 2010 but its OK for your labourites to rewind the clock to the slave trade, the general strike and Mrs Thatcher abolishing free school milk
