Banking online is safe, it's your own PC you need to secure with a firewall and AV, although if you have Windows 8 you don't need any of them unless you're stupid as the defaults are fine.

i have been known to be stupid now and again
as yet im still using my old lap top win 7, new lap top win 8 came with norton already installed which is not default i assume, anyway its ok i have all the protection needed, just that wi fi is new to me, always new things to learn,just the same not long ago i asked the same about dongle, which you gave me the same answer, :-)
