Ferguson Book & C4 News Interview

The racehorse owning, champagne swigging socialist has trousered another couple of million with his new book. Here's the video of the interview which I reckon he'd rather not have had

    http://www.channel4.com/news/sir-ale...chester-united

good bit around the 5 minute mark where Snow has him squirming about his relationship with the press and him banning the BBC for 7 years following their revelations about his dodgy son.

He's bang out of order criticising Keano - a player I loathed but who was a key part in much of Man Utds success

Anyhow good on Ferguson as a Director of the club he sees nothing wrong in destabilising them

Just added bits from the Mail

Not many interviewers leave Sir Alex Ferguson rattled but Channel 4 presenter Jon Snow gave the former Manchester United manager a going over. Ferguson, who launched his book My Autobiography on Tuesday, was left squirming on occasion as Snow quizzed him on matters ranging from his agent son Jason, his feud with the BBC, his 'Stalinist' regime at Old Trafford. But it was a question concerning his political beliefs and working for the Glazers which got Ferguson most worked up. Snow asked how he squared his left-of-centre, Labour-supporting stance with working for the Americans whom he claimed the ex-United boss had called 'rampant capitalists'.

    ..........................................
Forget the man from the factory floor... this is Fergie from the land of prawn sandwiches

The devil was always in the detail. Now he resides in the lack of it. Page 145, lines 11 to 19, for those that wish to know about the mount that changed English football history.

‘Rock of Gibraltar was a wonderful horse,’ Sir Alex Ferguson begins, ‘a misunderstanding on both sides’, he concludes, all of 93 words later.

And therein the circumstances of Ferguson’s football club, Manchester United, change forever.
Without the fissure over horseflesh between United’s manager and its biggest shareholders, Cubic Expression, otherwise known as the Coolmore Stud, it is unlikely that the club falls into the hands of the Glazer family.

No Glazers, no debt. No debt, bigger transfer budgets. Bigger transfer budgets, well you know the rest.

I'm not a fan of Ferguson, but I'm a fan of autobiographies and I'm intrigued to read his book.
Any autobiographist who has operated for such a long period with such success at that the top level must be worth a read. imo

For me there's a real fascination when people share something of their lives no matter how small that 'window' may be.
I prefer those written personally rather than 'ghost writers', but I may just get hold of this one.

Yeah he did look a bit uneasy with some of the questions. I loathed Keane as well but I have to agree with the pikey on this occassion when he says Fergie has shown no loyalty to some players who served him well.

    Keano hits back

    Bozza wants to deck him

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has sided with Roy Keane on comments questioning the loyalty of Sir Alex Ferguson, and defended himself from criticism insisting he wants a face-to-face with the Scot.

Keane sparked controversy last night as he hit back at Ferguson's claims about the lack of loyalty from the Irishman.

Now Bosnich, working as a pundit himself, told the FOX Sports channel Keane was right.

A Man Utd supporting mate (a Doctor & Yorkshireman like you Les ) takes the opposite view - this is what he tells me - I've starred out the expletives

Completely agree I don't know what the **** he is playing at. I thought he'd be the last person to come out with this sort of **** I want to read the chapter on Keane apparently he went psychotic in the changing rooms and nearly killed everyone after Ferguson closed the doors in the changing room after a match and played Roys MUTV interview to all the players in which he had systematically dismantled them all saying they had no balls, heart etc and were only interested in Bentleys and Rolexes etc. Ferguson said in his book even he felt threatened when Keanes eyes narrowed to slits and turned black, I bet it was ******* priceless.

(CNN) -- The release of Alex Ferguson's autobiography was always likely to ruffle a few feathers, with the recently retired Manchester United manager aiming barbs at a number of his high profile former stars.

Ferguson's latest book is a follow on from his first memoir, entitled "Managing My Life", which was released in 1999.
Keane has questioned why, in both books, Ferguson felt it necessary to criticize many of the players who helped him win 38 trophies during his time at Manchester United.

Other players likely to be irked by what they read in Ferguson's new book are current United star Wayne Rooney -- "not the quickest learner" according to his former manager -- and David Beckham, who he claims was distracted by his fame away from the football pitch.

"I'm not sure how many books he's written now, but you have to draw the line eventually and say 'Listen, these players have all been top servants to Man United and a lot of these players helped the manager win lots of trophies,'" added Keane.

"Can you imagine if we had never won a trophy what he would have said? We brought success to the club, we gave it everything we had when we were there.

"It's just part of modern life now, people like to do books and criticize their ex players."

The good news for mankind is that in another interview with Channel 4 News, Ferguson promised he wouldn't be writing any more books about his time at United.

For that we can all celebrate
