    Its the same everywhere as far as jobs are concerned.Its not what you know but who you know and wherever you go in the world its exactly the same.I know of many jobs that come up e.g civil government jobs,council jobs etc which are already filled before they are advertised.You gotta be in with the right bunch.It does not matter about qualifications by enlarge.Lots of companies would much rather use an agency these days so they have no obligation to pay for sickness,holidays and the like.If you actually look at Emplyment agencies there are up 100 fold plus from 10 years ago.

    I agree that it is always helpful to "know" the right people. Many employers deal with Employment Agencies these days because it's quicker to recruit temporary (to permanent) employees in this way and easier to "get rid" if the employee turn out to be unsuitable. In my experience, holiday pay is always factored into the hourly rate paid by the employer to the agency who then pay it to the employee.
