Exclamation New Application Forms on or after 28 October 2013

We are publishing new versions of the following application forms for use on or after 28 October 2013:

    • SET(BUS) - settlement (overseas business representative or retired person of independent means)
    • SET(DV) - settlement (victims of domestic violence)
    • SET(F) - settlement (children of British citizens or people settled in the UK)
    • SET (LR) - settlement (long residence in the UK)
    • SET(M) - settlement (marriage)
    • SET(O) - settlement (other)
    • Guidance notes for the SET(BUS), SET(LR), SET(M) and SET(O).

All these forms are for use by applicants who are already in the UK.

You should use the new forms if you apply on or after 28 October 2013. However, we will continue to accept applications made on previous versions of these forms up to and including 18 November 2013.

If your application is received on or after 28 October 2013 you will need to meet the revised Knowledge of Language and Life in the UK requirements, and send evidence of that.

For details of the new requirement please see the
Changes to the knowledge of language and life requirements for settlement and naturalisation document on this website.

Thanks for posting the above updates, Rayna ... I'm sure such threads will prove particularly useful for very many of our present members as well as the many more who will, undoubtedly, be following their lead in times to come.

    Alex, I've PM'd you.
The answer is no. You'll need to use the latest form.

I always advise folks to use the very latest forms.
Using an old form may or may cause delays, cause applications being returned or even not being accepted at all.

With UKBA the best motto is minimise all risks.

    Guys
Do you have to photocopy your 6 pieces of evidence (letters to both of us) for a PEO appointment?

Were copies of any other documents needed at all?

How long after PEO do you get your BRP?

We are going up to Solihull on Tuesday managed to get all the "stuff" together and log it all into a binder, phew - worse than doing a tax return (or pulling teeth!)..
    Thanks

    Tone

When we did ours I took a photocopy of everything just in case.
The Immigration Officer looked through our papers, took some away (to copy I think) then after the interview just told us to come back.

He didn't ask us for any copies.

Personally Tone it's better to take a copy anyway.......it's just impossible to predict what's needed as copy and what's not.

    Sorry, best I can do.
Others may have a different experience

Peter - thanks - that's a lot of copies but if you think its safer I would prefer to err on the side of caution..
I would have thought they would copy things they need but on page 37 (checklist) it says photocopies of all information asked for in Section 11 are needed.. what they dont say is do we provide or do they copy what is needed? This also covers passports!

I cant wait to get past this..

    Thanks
    Tone
