another warning get citizenship sorted asap, you never know whats going to happen in the future
difficult one, his ILR has expired, so he has no valid visa to be in the UK, if they allow him to stay then many more will seek the same . rules are rules 2yrs outside the uk in one trip you lose your ILR. if he does leave and they have to apply for a settlement visa, will they be able to pass the minimum financial requirements
but then he's lived in Scotland for nearly 50 yrs
