Scores must be verified using the Cambridge English online system? What does this mean?

Throwing this question into the open:

My wife took her IELTS test in May this year she has her certificate and has a B2 pass 5.5 on that scale.
I just read here Quote" For tests taken on or
after 6 April 2013: no
documents required
(Scores must be verified
using the Cambridge
English online system
using name, date of birth
and passport number)."

What does this mean? My wife did not have passport at the time. No one has said about this to her during her test or was it done without her knowing ..verification that is?

I have done some research. In April 2013 the Home office issued new immigration rules and in is this quote:
For tests taken on or after
6 April 2013: no documents
required (Scores will be
verified using the Cambridge
English online system using
name, date of birth .."
It seems that the visa application centre actually go on line and check candidates test results.

I will ask my wife to sign up and see if she can do so her self.

Where did she took her exam? is it in IDP?
