    Announcing our Return to FilipinoUK

Pete and Gina return to FilipinoUK after Semi-Retirement from the Forum

    Hello everyone,

Its great to see lots of newbies on the forum, for those that don't know me, I joined up with Keith and Rob back in 2004 on this forum, after some time I have had my hands full with some personal projects in the Philippines, (like building my retirement project), it was shortly after I became a full time member, that Keith honoured me by making me a moderator, I have always cherished that position, but could not keep up with the constant monitoring back then, back in 2004 when the good times used to roll we had many laughs on this forum, I am sure that spirit remains today as much as it was back then, although I see the same applicants questions as before, wow has it been 3 years now ?

How time flies, well its good to be back, we took a break from the forum a year ago to concentrate on our house building project back in wowphilippines, and now I am happy to say the house project is over, finally finished and most of my life savings with it, I am glad Keith kept my username and password for me, maybe he knew I would never stay away, but its good to be back finally.

Its also amazing to find Stuart and Hannah at this forum, sorry i didn't reply to your pim message Stuart back in June, but not to worry, Stuart is sorted now, Stuart and I had the most coincidental meeting in NAIA by chance back in August ! And just by chance Stuart related his experience in finding "This great website with all the information on to get his lovely fiancee into UK" (A few chuckles at the time Stuart)

I listened intently as Stuart narrated his experience on my site, laughing privately inside my head that he was about to find out, he was sitting in front of the guy who wrote the editorial content, which did become apparrent in about 10 minutes when i could no longer contain myself, we both arrived back on 10th August this year from Hong Kong. (I should have said, what will you do when you meet up with the guy who built the site - he might have said "buy him a few beers).

Stuart and I have kept in touch by email, and I am happy to hear his fiancee has landed safely in UK and is enjoying her new surroundings.

It just goes to show that on this forum and else where in the world, like minded ones are bound to meet at some stage, our world is getting smaller, with internet, and low cost jet travel, I remember the first person from this forum I met in London, his name is Maurizio Delgado, we met in Londons Liverpool Street station one sunny Saturday afternoon, that was back in 2004, Maurizio ? are you still around mate ? Maurizio needed to get his fiancee into UK, he was not happy with the amount of paperwork and evidence he needed, with the promise of buying me lunch and an excuse to go shopping in London, I accepted his invitation, funnily enough ever since that time, I have been doing similar throughout the last 3 years, time has flown so quickly.

Its great also to hear that people such as Richard Fletcher who e mailed me from the United Arab Emirates some 4 months ago, telling me of his situation, where he found himself with a new lady in his life who was also pregnant, living in a muslim country would have meant certain ostracization of them being not married, on following my advices, Richard left the jurisidiction of the UAE and flew his fiancee to Manila, where he remained for some 2 months, he wrote to me a month ago, telling me his wife and he were now happily living in UK, his words were "Can I come to London and buy you dinner" I cannot thank you enough !, (Richard, your happiness and a nod in my direction is all that is required mate but if I am in Shopshire, I know where to pop in for coffee).

Well I have to say that I know Keith takes the same view as me, that his forum is a free site, as is my website which is free to users, they are there to bring much joy to others and to assist in seeing them happily living in UK, an offer of a beer or a dinner is always flattering, we get our satisfaction out of helping others, in that respect I know Gina and I are very happy to be on this forum, and if we can share our experiences with others, and can be of service, we are very proud to do so, so again WE ARE HAPPY TO BE BACK AT FILIPINOUK.

Yes Kieth, something like that, what with e mails from expats abroad, and e mails from Expats Hong Kong, to deal with, I seem to be coming some sort of Philippines living guru, dont know why ? I just a guy that sells bathrooms, have had the FCO on my back again about British-Filipino, and a communication from VFS Global, who act on behalf of UKVisas in the Philippines, asking me to refrain from misleading applicants, there is a bit of a story in this, I will make a post about it this week.

Welcome back!!!! Your web site was very useful when I first met my Anilyn just over two years back, I found a few other useful sites that explained some of the differences in culture and the processes we would later need to go through to get to the stage we are now We will get married next month Nov 17th if all goes well!!! We are still trying to get the church sorted and after the Bishops Common License is issued it will be all hands to the pump as it where with the rest of the arangements. I like stress All the information you and the rest of the people in here gave a wonderful insight into how to solve our problems and worries with the Fiancee Visa and for that I can only say a BIG THANK YOU to all in and especially Keith and yourself for Peter for making available these two excellent and informative web sites, without wich many people would have lost a lot more hair and certainly got a lot greyer looking on the hairs remaining

    Thank You Very Much

    Maraming Maraming Salamat

    And Again WELCOME BACK
CPLURLTC Care, Patience, Love, Understanding, Respect, Loyalty, Trust & Concideration / Compassion Are all the values Me & Anilyn hope to give each other, sometimes we may both fail, but we will always try, I am sure most of u in here are the type to do the same with their loved ones.

I've never had a whistle off the FCO or any other official body, probably as they realize I wouldn't take any notice, or because a forum is a living thing rather than static, and is constantly updated by folk who are currently going through the process......either that or they've read my T&C, which makes me liable for any inaccuracies only when I am on Mars.!!!
