    I daren't count my wife's shoes.....way too scary.

Just the other day she suggested I go look at the mens shoes while she checks out the ladies.....................I said nah, I've got a pair of shoes.....she said why don't you ever wear them instead of those trainers...........I said, because you never take take me out anywhere ............True story.

Last week I was asked to go into the garage and find her plastic storage 'boxes' of winter boots. I found all 4 boxes
    Gawd knows how many pairs....

Last time the gas man came to read the meter I had to move all the shoes out of the cupboard-under-the-stairs just so he could get a clear sight of the reading..

You guys have got far too many pairs of shoes.

I won't go into the Four Yorkshiremen sketch, but my (only) trainers were purchased at Tesco for about £9.99 in around 2004 and have already been to the Phils twice and America once, as well as walking many many miles, cycled and driven a lot more, and climbed a few mountains. The buggers refuse to die ! I wouldn't mind, but they're not even a good fit. They're tight !

... must admit I have loads. How MANY pairs?? Dunno ... ... I've lost count! But then, I love shoes ... in all sorts of different hues - ranging from the traditional black and [various] shades of brown to oxblood, through to grey, two~tone navy blue and tan - even fern green ... which I successfully dyed from their original beige, several years ago.

Equally, I'm fond of clothes ... of which AGAIN, I've more than I need - most of them dating back over the 17 years I lived alone - the main reason being, I like to take a pride in my appearance whenever I'm out and about.

Whereas, in the *house, a substantial part of my time is spent on the computer, and *here I tend to don casual togs - lest my dressier attire accidentally gets singed with burning pipe ash.

How are we able to afford such an [apparently] extravagant lifestyle? Simple ... ... we don't have the cripplingly expensive upkeep of a car!

    Hmm...I'll give them a try.

Only thing is, I might bang my head on the top of the door frame.

I always wore a suit and tie at work too
Had a remarkable collection of ties...............oh and socks too...red, yellow, pink, white etc.

As of now I don't even have a suit anymore

I've held back from buying such clothes as I've been expecting to relocate to more tropical climes anytime soon................my wife has a slightly different strategy but fully understands the specific non-negotiable date when I'll be heading out...........hopefully together.
But, as she knows, I've no objection to being a 'kept' man in the paradise islands with my very own OFW sponsor

I may as well not wear a suit anyway in winter...seeing as it is covered up by a big warm jacket.
