    Cabinet unease over benefit bid

    who cares
    to be fair, they shouldn't be able to claim any benefits until they have PR, the same terms that non Europeans face

    A Liberal Democrat Cabinet minister has voiced concern over reports David Cameron is prepared to take on Brussels to impose tougher conditions on European migrants amid fears about the number of Bulgarians and Romanians expected to come to the UK from January.

    A total of 35 Tory backbenchers, mainly on the right of the party, have also tabled an amendment to the immigration bill in the Commons so that the transitional controls on Romania and Bulgaria remain in force until 2019, five years longer than allowed under EU law.

    Hmm ... ... would unemployed immigrant Brits be entitled to claim benefits in continental EU countries???

    Of course not. In fact those countries probably don't even have a benefit system

    "What's good for the goose ... etc.", immediately springs to mind. Surely the answer's crystal *CLEAR! ... time to get *this message across to the doubters ... e.g. ...

    Quoting Scottish Secretary:

    "It might put us on the wrong side of the rest of the EU; as a member state I don't want to find ourselves in that territory. It's something we should be discussing with them".

    I flew over Romania yesterday, and from 38,000ft I have to say that first impressions are that the residents are quite small
