She contacted them and was told no appointment necessary just a walk in procedure on the day we arrive can somebody clarify this thankyou...

Yes, no appointment needed. She just need to go to the embassy. Just make sure all the requirements needed are complete (get it from the embassy's website) so everything will be easier and quicker. I made a review of my experience when I went there last June (in the Reviews & Recommendation section).

We will be getting sick of looking at the place Steve, it will be 3 visits in 6 months, first one just gone for the schengen then January for passport renewal then a second schengen in May
