Hmm ... I would assume Ded, you've had a look at the witness's picture in the link you've posted - and possibly came to the same conclusion as I did - i.e., she could easily have passed for a groom herself on the basis of her "mannish" appearance.
Maybe she was a "dyke" or the facial features had been "polished" up!
