    She wants to go on 5th April.... But when we go to register it comes up writing test date 5/4/14 sat 8am then it says speaking test date 4/4/2014 fri pm

    I dont want to book the wrong thing!

    Also she is asking is this the only english test as she thought you had to do 4 parts?

    hello Slip.
    When I did my Ielts it is also 2 days, the writing, reading and listening was the first part and the speaking was on a different day (because it is a one-on-one session and cannot accommodate lots of participants in a day) she also needs to do all of the 4 parts because if she misses one, the score will be invalid because they will get the total of each subtest.

    Each test has it's own variations and package. Take a look at TOIEC with Hopkins I think they only do 3 modules instead of 4
    It doesn't matter too much as the UKBA is only interested in the individual scores for Speaking and Listening and not any overall score.

    You pays your money and takes your choice. As far as I know there's no approved test / test centre that only offers the 2 needed modules. She'll just need to do whatever she needs to do. She can feel confident in the knowledge that her scores for Reading and Writing will not have an impact on her visa application.
