Confirmation of Documents Required for FLR Visa Application??

    Hi guys,

Regarding the FLR application, am I correct in thinking that documents showing proof of continuing cohabitation/relationship etc are still required?
    For example:
    Utility bills
    Council Tax bill
    Iland Revenue Correspondence
    Pay slips
    Photos of us both together
    Etc etc etc????

    Many thanks
    NS

Yes, in principle you are correct.

I think your best route is to review the latest FLR(M) form. You'll be able to prepare for all the questions.
    You can download it here

For your specific question see Section12 - Documents (page 44)

I thought I would give an update regarding my wife's application for another FLR.
We attended Sheffield PEO last Thursday. I'm very pleased to say that she was successful and her application was approved!! The whole process took 3 hours from start to finish. The BRP card was delivered by courier on Monday, but as we were both at work. We arranged for the courier to deliver today and now she has a shiny new biometrics card.

    Thanks Terpe,

Although the new current FLR has now got 2 years to run, once my wife has done the English B1 test, she wants to apply for ILR……..we don't want to leave it for the full 2 years as you never know what other hoops and expense the government will decide to put in the way.
    Thanks again!

She can apply for ILR as soon as she meets the requirements.
All a question of budgets and priorities

One question, as we are hoping to do Mizel's FLR next week. Am I correct in assuming we don't need to take copies of all our documents like we did with Fiancee visa?

We made photocopies of all the originals we submitted and put them in two plastic wallets at the back of our file. Upon getting the file returned to us, everything was there apart from from the photocopies which they'd kept.

I suppose they would've made their own photocopies had ours not been there. I just think it makes for a nice smooth application and if it saves the staff some time, it all adds up to giving the impression of a 'good quality' application.

BTW……..good luck with the FLR !

Thanks - that makes sense, we'll also copy all our supporting docs -anything that might help smooth the process. I know it'd be more favourable if my time was saved standing at the copier.

Another question: This is regarding the payment section. We have to pay when we book online, so do we still fill in the payment section of the form? In true UKBA fashion it's all as clear as mud.

    Regarding the payment section;
We left this page blank, but put a copy of the payment confirmation (what you got when making the online payment) on top of the payment page of the application form so that the UKBA staff saw it as they thumbed through the application form pages.
I think you have to give a copy of the payment receipt to the person on the front desk.

Regarding the file, I had a page taped to the inside cover of the file showing the numbered sections and briefly showing what documents are in each section

    Section 1
    Applicant's passport
    Spouse's passport

    Section 2
    Applicant's Birth Certificate
    Spouse's Birth Certificate
    Marriage Certificate

    Section 3
Spouse's employment reference, bank statements and savings statements
    Applicant's bank statements

    Section 4
    Spouse's wage slips
    Applicant's wage slips

    Section 5
    Applicant's correspondence to home address
    Spouse's correspondence to home address

    Section 6
Applicant's Life in The UK test certificate and English Language score report

    Section 7
    Mortgage statement
    Property Land Registry extract

    Section 8
Photographs showing applicant and spouse together
    Photographs showing marital home

    Section 9
    Photocopies of original documents submitted

On each section divider, I also listed what documents were in that particular section

That info is fantastic thank you very much for your nice detailed reply. It's very much appreciated. We can crack on with our application now. I printed out the 51 page form yesterday. We collected our Report of Marriage from the Embassy today.

    You're welcome!
I know it is a stressful time and the financial cost is not small either, which piles on the pressure too!

I printed off two copies of the application form (whilst at work) and I was pleased that I did as a couple of times we made mistakes or misread the question so with having two sets of application forms, we could just swap out the relative page and start again.

Any more questions regarding the application form/file, just ask

On the PEO booking it only asked for Given Name + Family Name no mention of Middle Names, yet when I printed the booking/payment confirmation it says Full Name. I booked it as Mizel Abad, not Mizel Barbadillo Abad, is this a problem?

    Hi Andy,
I'm sorry, I can't remember the exact wording on our PEO online booking form. It'll be the same form as the one you've completed.
I'm guessing that if the online form did not ask for "full name" then you can only fill in what the form asks.

I do know that whenever we've had to show ID for visa / Life in UK test / English language they always ask for the name exactly as it is on ID you're showing i.e. passport or residence permit (which does not show middle name) only christian name and surname.

Maybe to put your mind at rest, re-read the online application form or telephone UKBA with the query regarding the name.

I telephoned the contact number asking about a question I had, it was the Croydon PEO that handles calls. I was on hold for 15 mins, but in the end got a nice friendly lady who answered my question.
