Yes you can Steve, just use Ems family address, best make it joint a/c!

just take 4 passport pictures and your passport but some banks will ask for acr card . one thing to remember steve only open a bank account where you plan to settle as the banks operate differently here. I have an account with metrobank in cebu and wanted to transfer to a branch in bacolod sorry sir you can,t do that you have to close your account and open another account in bacolod. WTF it seems the branches operate independently from each other so you can,t transfer to another branch it does not mean every bank works like this but the majority do, so its best to open one where you plan to settle.

bpi seem quite good and you can manage your account online thats what you need really so you can keep an eye on things from anywhere you are in the world .what I would do is open 2 accounts at bpi deposit lump sum in one account and use the other for ems family so when ever she wants to give them money all she has to do is transfer a set amount to the other account and they can withdraw from atm using a cashcard that way it does,nt cost any money to send it you do it online and you can monitor everything

I tried to open a bank account for my husband (single account)..one of the requirements is the ACR card (Alien Cert of Registration) which he dont have at that moment so,we will leave it for now until he decides to reside in my country permanently...I dont think it matter as I got my own single account in the PH so my money and his money is both ours , if u know what i mean.
