As bad as it is,count ourselves lucky compared to filipino's![]()
Well 15 of us were due to spend Xmas day at my daughters in Ardingly, West Sussex, but due to the power cuts that had to be cancelled as she had no electricity from Xmas eve.
By a stroke of luck my new son in law's parents decided to host the event instead, so all the food, drink etc was ferried to the new location. A good time was had by all and we got to know his family a bit better.
We were due to go to another event today with more family in Surrey (Lingfield) but have just found out that's cancelled as well now due to power cuts!
Shame of 'Third World' Gatwick: U.S. owners face probe after airport leaves thousands stranded in squalor

What happened at Gatwick was a complete disgrace. On Christmas eve there was a BBC fella on the news at 19:40 saying his flight to Belfast should have gone at 08:00 - complete lack of info from Gatwick, at one point the info counter was unmanned, lots of Police around in case it kicked off, his relatives waiting in Belfast told him flight was cancelled, info on the internet confirmed this but Gatwick said nothing.
If you want to see the suits, little Hitlers and yes men who run this excuse for an airport search for the TV programme "Inside Gatwick"
I'd have thought it wouldn't take much brainpower to realise that electrics are best housed out of reach of water.![]()
I feel sorry for the ones who are suffering. I think I heard some time ago about how difficult to get insurance for floods. On the electrical side of things another price rise might be on the cards because we wont be using enough.![]()
you are correct there Andy, the bills will be going up thats for sure
