Question Regarding Section 4 of FLR (M) Application Form

I'm in the process of filling in a FLR(M) application form. All's going OK, but I'm unsure what to do about Section 4 (page 11 of the form).

I have no kids, my wife does have kids in the Philippines, but they are remaining there and not coming to the UK.

The opening paragraph of Section 4 states………….

SECTION 4 - DEPENDENT CHILDREN WHO ARE APPLYING WITH YOU

'"In this section include any children under 18 who are living with you in the UK and who are applying as your dependents. It is mandatory to complete this section as required. [U]Please note[U] this application will be invalid if you do not."" It's

It's the second sentence I'm concerned about (maybe over thinking it!) I'm not sure to leave the whole section blank or to fill in the

Has anyone successfully applied for a FLR who have no dependent kids and have left Section 4 blank??

    Thanks for any assistance……

In my understanding Section 4 is specifically for "Dependent Children Who Are Applying With You"

If you have no children applying at the same time then I do not believe this section will apply and need not be completed.

    The published FLR(M) Guidance states:-

    ..ENSURING YOUR APPLICATION IS COMPLETE
You do this by completing every relevant section of the form as required and providing all the documents specified for your particular application, including your passport and those of any children who are applying with you.
    I've highlighted the key part.

If you feel insecure at all I would advise you to get confirmation.
Alternatively you could provide an explanation on a separate sheet or under section 8B of the form FLR(M).

My personal view is to keep things as straightforward and simple as possible and to minimise risks by not adding unecessary that may be misinterpreted.
New Shoes, it's your call how you play it..........to be honest it doesn't matter one way or the other as that information is just not something to be considered as part of the appplication?

Hope that will ease your stress a little
