Question Staying 22 days in the Phil, does my husband needs to get a visa?

Hi everyone, me and the hubby are going home in April time for 22 days, do we need to go to the Phil embassy and get his visa? Even for just 1 day beyond the limit? Or we can get away with it? :-)

rules are rules they might drag him off kicking and screaming at the airport for overstaying

I doubt if it's like the UK where there's a polite text message two years after the visa runs out

    Hi,
I did think it was 21 days but recently saw this -

"British and Irish passport holders may enter and stay in the Philippines for 30 days without visa provided that they hold valid tickets for their return journey to port of origin or next port of destination, and that their passports are valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines."

    What he said.

Make sure you arrive on the same flight though, and that you have your marriage certificate to show to immigration...and don't forget to ASK for the Balikbayan 'privilege' stamp at the immigration counter. Even without it, the visa waiver stay for Brits has been increased to 30 days.

We're flying to Cebu, does that means we need to go to Manila where the embassy is and ask for that balikbayan visa?

    Thanks anyway Stevie. :-)

I'm flying with him back and forth, and I always bring my marriage certificate anyway to support my documents. :-)

    Thanks graham.

If you're going straight to Cebu, just ask for the Balikbayan when you go through immigration there at the airport.

It's nothing to do with the Embassy...purely Phils immigration upon ARRIVAL.

The time limit was raised to 30 days last year so no need for a visa at all. but im sure they will sell you one anyway if you ask about it so don't bother.

The Balikbayan 1 year visa free period comes at no charge.
