I've been studying since last year and I think am ready. just made me confused when hubby phoned the Testing Centre asked the same question mentioned here, they said I need the recent exam result for ILR and still early for me to take the Exam.

Thnx for the friendly advice Aprilmaejon

You can take the Life in UK Test whenever you want. Also as many times as you need (just a question of budget)

As others have said better to secure that pass certificate as early as possible and at a time that suits you. Leaving it too late will pile on the time pressures and may cause you to ultimately put off the ILR application.

The pass certificate has no expiry and there's no requirement for it to be recently issued at all.

Do what suits you best and fits in with your life now.

A very helpful answer Terpe. I need it done this yr while am just having my part time job and to lessen the worry because it's causing me stress really.

I might find another testing centre too.

    Thanks a lot Terpe

I don't know if they will change the rule again (ie put an expiry date for the Life in UK Test) but that is the same answer to my friend who is due to have her ILR this July 2014 which is too early to take the test.

Please update us if you have successfully booked your test.
