Not sure if this could be described as an aircon..More a cold air blowing fan..
    Worth a try though!!

I have a similar (but not home made) unit at home, and it works well. You basically fill the back with chilled water which in effect cools the air being blown out. If you want to keep the Mrs happy then you can even add some fabric conditioner to the water so it smells nice

Right.. Ice would be better though surely?
What impresses me is that this guy makes his own ice with solar power.. Only 30 watts an hour!!
Im not sure I can get a ref like that here with a suitable large freezer unit..

I'll have a look, when we were in Palawan last year we rented a place which you could only get there by boat. They had a cold box which ran on solar and the beers were blinking cold

Have a feeling it was it was an Aussie thing Might be an Esky or something like that, will have a google and post up a link

    that would be great but
sorry I wont be able to come through to manila for a meet up, I am about to start a building project (lolitas store in town, at present a single story prime location for trading, ) we are re building the store on ground floor plus a basement, and extend the whole building to the back ,to add a second story for office rental, plus a roof top caffee for us to run, 1.6 million peso, the build will start 1st week in april and will keep me very busy and I guess stressed lol,

but of course if you fancied a trip out to malaybalay then you and your good lady would be most welcome,

Wow...sounds like a big project Stewart.

    Good luck with it mate.

I'm a bit confused as to where your place (Malaybalay) actually is.

    Happy memories........

I remember having two similar units in a railway carriage in India.
I had a First Class A/C ticket from Dehli to Agra

    Worked fine as I recall
